You're Off The Mark ... Sanchez
August 15th 2011 23:50
The tough-talking New York Jets are at it again.
Usually it's brash coach Rex Ryan front and center speaking volumes for his team, but now it's the man behind center who is the center of attention.
Quarterback Mark Sanchez claims he was fightin' mad when he heard during last season Ryan considered benching him during a game vs. the Dolphins.
"I wanted to fight him," Sanchez says in the current issue of GQ magazine, of which the New York Jets' star is on the cover. "I was really mad."
"Rex is super honest. I wish he wasn't that honest at times, especially to say that," Sanchez added.
Can I be honest?
As a former HUGE New York Jets fan can I say how tired I am of this team talking so much.
Rarely, if ever, has a club yapped so much while accomplishing SO LITTLE.
OK, I understand making it to two straight AFC title games is a pretty good accomplishment, but it's not like the Jets won either game.
They haven't won a Super Bowl since Joe Namath backed up his talk with a strong performance in the championship game vs. the Colts.
Sanchez is a good quarterback and Ryan is a good coach.
But GOOD isn't good enough.
And it would be better if they shut their mouths from this point forward.
The Jets seem to have the formula incorrect ... it should be win, then talk ... not the other way around.
Like the song goes "talk, talk, talk, talk ... all you do to me is talk, talk."
