Yanks Offense Gives Team A Strong Shot At World Series

The New York Yankees No. 1 starter, C.C. Sabathia can't beat the team's top rival, the Boston Red Sox, this season.
The team's No. 2 starter, AJ Burnett, can't seem to beat anyone.
The rest of the staff, while surprisingly successful for the most part, doesn't and won't scare anyone.
Why have the Yanks been so successful this season, and still gunning for at least a Wild Card playoff berth?
Their offense is the reason for another potentially great season.
It's an easy call to make after the team put up a season-high 22 runs in Thursday's romp over the A's.
The Yanks set a major league record with three Grand Slams, with Russell Martin, Curtis Granderson and Robinson Cano accomplishing the feat.
The Yanks were listless in trailing 7-1, but erupted from there to coast to the easy win.
The Pinstripes are chock full of MVP candidates, perhaps starting with the "Grandy Man", Curtis Granderson (36 homers, 103 RBI, 119 RBI and 24 stolen bases).
It's hard to believe the Yanks thought Granderson would be THIS good when they signed him.
Mark Teixeira (35 homers, 98 RBI) is having a typical season for him, which is more bad news for opponents.
Robinson Cano is another emerging superstar (.304 average, 34 doubles, 22 homers, 93 RBI), while Martin and outfielder Nick Swisher have combined to hit another 35 round-trippers.
It's amazing to think the team's two superstars, A-Rod and Derek Jeter, have "just" 17 homers and 100 RBI between them yet the Yanks are still excelling.
A-Rod's been banged up, while Jeter's star is fading so those stats are understandable.
If they can provide more punch to the lineup the Yanks might be the toast of baseball again come October.
