World Series: Yanks Over Giants In Seven Games
July 13th 2011 19:42
Congratulations Brian Wilson for closing out the MLB All-Star game with your nifty ninth-inning work.
It was great to see the San Francisco Giants reliever's familiar salute to his father on the mound when he finished off the American League.
He also secured the NL's home field advantage for the World Series, like it or not.
I don't like it, but that's a whole 'nother blog.
I will get my due in the World Series anyway, when my New York Yankees beat the Giants in seven games.
That's right, the Yanks will edge the Giants on San Francisco's home-field.
Why?
I just feel it will be seen from San Francisco's turn for Series misfortune is all.
The Yankees felt that after all, by losing to the Marlins and Diamondbacks before finally bouncing back to win it all in 2009.
No offense, I still have the Giants making it to the World Series after winning it all in 2010.
I think the starting pitching, led by Tim Lincecum, Matt Cain and company is still plenty good enough but the team's light hitting offense will finally catch up to them.
The Yankees, meanwhile, will get there on the strength of their offense as A-Rod returns healthy and clutch players come through again in a familiar pressure environment.
It will have to carry their pitching, which is surprisingly good but doesn't match up to the G-Men.
The World Series will be close, and the difference in the final game will just be a bloop hit.
It happened to Mariano Rivera vs. the D-Backs, and this time it's Brian Wilson's time to feel the pain.
Sorry San Francisco, but you are just in the way of another World Series title for the Yankees.
