'The' Ohio State Has Seriously Hurt College Football

July 12th 2011 13:36
I have always been more of a pro football fan than a follower of college football.

As I have gotten older, however, I have really learned to appreciate the college game and find it even more exciting than its pro counterpart at times.

The mess at Ohio State has really stained the game, however.

By not admitting he knew what was going on with the Buckeyes program BEFORE last season, ex-coach Jim Tressel ruined that season.

Not just for his team, but arguably for ALL of college football.

We will never know who should have been national champions because of Tressel's selfish and short-sighted behavior.

The guy who appeared so buttoned down, clean and honest lied not only to himself but to all of us.

Sports fans like me, and so many others, are still excited about the upcoming season.

But thanks to Tressel I am left wondering when the other cleat will drop.

Who else is cheating out there? And when will it come to light?

Before, during or after the season?
