Superman Overseas? Magic's Dwight Howard Mulls Move
July 18th 2011 12:31
The longer the NBA goes without a new labor agreement the more top players will consider going overseas with their services.
It already happened with superstar Deron Williams and now Dwight Howard is reportedly considering a similar move.
"The big thing for me is not giving too much information away, but at the same time I still need to let people know what's going on with me," the Orlando Magic star told AP. "I don't want to just sit over here and forget about basketball and waste, you know, opportunities for me to get better."
As great as the NBA is, you see, basketball players are still basketball players.
That is to say, they still need to hoop it up and they "(D)-Will" go elsewhere to do it..
It's ironic in a way, too, that all the worldwide marketing of the game David Stern may have helped players get new jobs.
It's always been out there, a feeling anyway, that while the NBA commissioner was helping the league grow into a worldwide force it was rotting a bit here in the states.
This was an exciting season the league is coming off, but the bloom is off the rose and the petals are withering in the summer heat.
Soon, even Superman may not be able to rescue the NBA. He may be off in China, doing what he does best, playing basketball.
