Wisconsin's Russell Wilson Is Quarterback With Knack
September 2nd 2011 17:33
How could NC State possibly let Russell Wilson go, after three great seasons for the ACC program?
He had another year of eligibility remaining and could have tormented defenses throughout 2011.
That is a question for another day, and one that Wolfpack fans and opponents alike will shake their heads over.
Wilson is tormenting defenses, however this time for Wisconsin which opened its arms wide for the talented signal-caller.
He certainly didn't disappoint in his first game for his new teammates in red-and-white unis, as Wilson passed for 255 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the No. 11 Badgers 51-17 romp over UNLV Thursday.
Wilson completed 10 of 13 passes and rolled up 62 rushing yards, including a 46-yard scoring romp in the second quarter in a brilliant debut.
Wisconsin led 27-0 and took a 37-3 lead into intermission in the lopsided contest.
Wilson had help, as Montee Ball rushed for 63 yards and ran for three scores, and snared two passes for 67 yards and another TD.
James White piled up a team-high 64 yards and a score for the Badgers, as well.
It won't be THIS easy for the Badgers as the season progresses, but they certainly broadened their offensive options by bringing in Wilson.
Which again begs the question:
What was N.C. State thinking?
