Phils Still Rule MLB Super Six
July 24th 2011 15:04
There were no changes in ranking the top six teams from last week. Rankings and records are prior to all Sunday games.
1. Phillies (63-36) --- Just win baby! Al Davis would love this group, winners of 8 of 10 games and a ridiculous 27 games over .500 as of Sunday morning.
2. Red Sox (61-37) --- Nearly as hot and consistent over the course of the season as the Phils, and have built a three-game lead over the Yanks in AL East.
3. Giants (58-43) --- Even when starting pitching falters, rare on this team, the bullpen comes in and tosses four innings of no-hit ball to steady things as it did Saturday night.
4 Yankees (58-40) --- After Sabathia, starters are a big question mark for Bombers, who are just 5-5 in last 10 heading into Sunday.
5. Braves (59-42) --- Can't pass Yanks in ranks due to same mark over last 10.
6. Rangers (58-43) --- Winners in 8 of last 10 and if they stay hot and Yanks, Braves falter they could pass both teams next week.
Honorable mention: Angels, Tigers, Cardinals
Watch out for: Pirates.
