This is Papero, NEC's current and long running project of developing a humaniod robot. Frankly, its so freakin' cool and I want one so much I am actually crying. I think I want this more than how much I want a monkey. Why do I want this more you ask? Well, in six months time when I am bored of both of them, it will be much more socially aceptable to dump a robot in my wardrobe than a monkey.

NEC hopes to create a robot that can fit into the daily lives of humans and be of assistance to the elderly, the young and presumably, the certfiably, stinking rich (ha, you thought I was gioing to say insane, huh?).

The robot is not in commercial production and at this point, (despite how much I spam NEC about this), it continues to not be and will stay that way for the foreseeable future.

This gets 6 out of 10 Heaps Goods because I can't buy it and I can't get a pet monkey in Australia. Anyway, I have built (read: stuck together) my own humanoid robot. It may just be a styrofome body, a basket ball for a head and does nothing unless I push it around... But im cool. Uh, yea, I suck.
