Glad To See Value Rising In Bucs

July 19th 2011 18:32
I'm not a Pittsburgh Pirates fan, but how can you NOT feel at least a little bit good about what the team is accomplishing this season.

The perennial losers, marred in two straight decades of having a losing record, have tasted first-place in the NL Central and could be in a season-long battle for the spot with the Cardinals and Brewers.

Life is finally pretty good if you are a Bucs fan.

And the thing is, if you'll pardon the expression, the Bucs don't have to stop here.

Pittsburgh's pitching has been way better than last season, boasting a 3.40 staff ERA, over 1.5 runs better than 2010.

The Pirates no longer get blown out, either, already having a 200 run differential from last season.

Bucs Up In Value!

The Bucs must be getting more confident too, coming off a 16-11 June after going 6-20 last season in the same month.

Can Kevin Correia and Jeff Karstens, with 19 wins between them keep up their solid pitching in the second half?

Can someone besides Andrew McCutchen (14 homers, 15 steals) and Neil Walker (62 RBI) hit?

Stay tuned Bucs fans, at least you can come out of the closet for this season.
