In an effort to slow down the speeds of motorists, the Philadelphia governement have started painting 3D effects at road way intersections to slow down drivers.
I give this like 2 out of 10 Heaps Goods. By the look of the photo they look pretty cheap and fake. Not like those awesome 3D ones you get in those forward emails that look like huge holes or foutains drawn onto the pavement. They are so freakin' cool! I saw a foutain one drawn in the mall once, I got confused and tried to jump in. Alas, I woke up crying in a sea of my own teeth.
City, state, and federal officials will roll out a program aimed at getting drivers in Philadelphia to heed the speed limit. One part of this involves 3-D images that will look like bumps in the road.
Denny says this effort includes the deployment at about 100 intersections of high tech decals that create a 3-D image, to make drivers think there's something in the intersection
